I saw Serenity last weekend, and was impressed enough that it's been hard to write a review of it that does it justice. But suffice to say that even if you are not particularly into sci-fi you should find it enjoyable. And for those who are reminded of Buffy: The Vampire Slayer whenever the name Joss Whedon is mentioned, you'll like this movie regardless of how you feel about that series. And if you're a Firefly fan, you'd probably have seen it at least once already, right?

Don't take my word for it, check out the mention in Ars Technica. IMDb rating for the movie seems to have stabilized at the 8.6 level, after going as high as 8.7 a few days ago. Some of that is probably the effect of loyal fans rushing to see it first and giving it glowing ratings, but hey, even fans have tolerance limits. I wonder how bad the early ratings for Phantom Menace were.. does IMDb keep track of rating changes?
