One of the first things I noticed when entering the apartment after the summer break was the damp spot on the carpet next to my work desk. Hmm, funny, thought I, didn't the maintenance guy fix the upstairs neighbour's leaking air conditioner and dried my carpet,
Mystery remained unsolved for more than a week, as the carpet slowly dried itself off. Until this evening, that is. Coming back from Pooja's house I noticed the patch has returned. And this time it was actually .. dripping. Looking up I saw a wet line in the ceiling starting from where the living room meets the bathroom, over an open box full of DVDs (thankfully it did not drip over there!) and stopping right above my chair. Luckily it dripped a bit to the left, just next to where I normally sit.
Time to call maintenance guys again tomorrow.. agh. It's funny how we tend not to look up when investigating - I always thought those Hollywood scenes were made up, but I guess it's psychologically quite accurate.
Bonus points for spotting the reference made by the subject.
- and was it not in the next room anyway?
